Mint Twist Card

Hi everyone! Alanna here to finish off the month with a card using Kaiser's bright and cheerful Mint Twist collection...

All the materials (except the doily and twine) are available over at Kerry's store. I used the paper pad as well as the sheet of perforated tags.

I love the idea of having a little tag hiding somewhere in the card where you can add a secret message :)

Hope you enjoyed our Christmas month here on the blog and it gave you some inspiration to start making some handmade cards! Don't forget to have a look at the challenge as well to kick start your creativeness!!

Twig & Berry - Days till Christmas

Hi,

Here's my Off the Page project - Days till Christmas (Count down Tree).

I used Kaisercrafts Twig & Berry Paper Collection, which is just beautiful.  The mini alphas, buttons, star and twine are from my own stash.  The numerals (also from Kaisercraft) were inked in red and decorated with 'Xmas Red' stickles.  Most, if not all, of these items can be purchased at Kerry's store http://www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au

This project was so much fun to make and as you can see there aren't too many days left until Christmas!! Scary thought isn't it!

Well if this has inspired you to get cracking on your Christmas Crafting, make sure you visit Kerry's store!

See you later

Sandra :)

More Christmas Ideas....

I decided to stick with the same theme with this week's project and make some more gift ideas. I have had 'make pizza boxes' on my to-do list for some time now and so finally decided to make them!

The pizza boxes are 4" square and 1" thick but as with anything else, I'm sure they can be made bigger or smaller depending on what you want to put inside. I decided to hide my Bertie Beetle stash in mine and thought what a cute little gift they'd make for someone even just as a nice gesture. They'd also be a good size to fit a gift card into or maybe some trinkets.....

Too cute! I am now going to try and work out everyone's christmas presents to be small enough to fit into a pizza box so we can walk in on christmas day with cute little pizza boxes in our arms!!!!

How are you going with your christmas projects? Have you started yet? If not I suggest you head on over to Kerry's store and start ordering your papers, etc as I have been seeing posts over the last few days on facebook warning us that it's less than 100 days away. We don't want to be imitating elves a few days before christmas madly working away to get everything done now do we???? ;0)

Twig & Berry Mini Album

Hi everyone,

Sandra here, I have just managed to spend some time working on a mini album I've been wanting to make using Kaisercraft's Twig & Berry Christmas Collection.  Unfortunately its not quite finished but I thought I'ld let you see how it looks so far!

I decided to use a paper bag pages for the inserts and the covers are by Zutter.  This is the first time I've used paper bags in this way and I must admit I was a touch frightened but I think they've worked really well and I can't wait to start decorating each page.

This is the album so far:

There's still lots to be added......

I hope to finish it in the next couple of days....depends if the kids will let me though!!

Most of the items used for this album can be purchased from Kerry at www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au

Please pop over and check out her store.

Christmas Gift Ideas....

When I was putting together my project for this week I stumbled across a comment on Kerry's facebook group that got my attention. A group member had written:
I'm looking for something I can make each of my kids child care workers for Xmas. Budget of about $10 each. Any ideas anyone??
Although a few members had already replied with suggestions, I already had a great idea for her in the works so asked her to check this blog out today in the hope she will find inspiration in what I have made.

I learnt how to make this box in a craft group I belong to around a month ago. When I saw the post on the facebook group I thought this would be the perfect present to give to a Teacher/Child Care Worker. The inside of the box is around 4" square and will fit lots of goodies inside. You can fit a whole box of those Cadbury Celebrations in there or you could be creative and fill it with home made cookies or desserts, lollies, little trinkets, anything!

I pondered the thought that if someone wanted to give me a gift like this then what would it be filled with? EASY! Mine would be filled with all my favourite Nespresso capsules!!!

I also decided to make a gate fold card to go with my box as I wanted to use the cute little baubles that came in the collectables pack so figured a matching card would work!

I used the Turtle Dove collection for these projects including the paper, rubons and collectables. I also added a little seam binding ribbon, silver rhinestones, mounting foam, martha stewart corner punch and last but not least the Darling Marci Stamp that I coloured with my Copic Markers. You can find most of these products in Kerry's store so head over and check them out so you can start working on your own handmade Christmas gifts.
I'm going to try and make a few of these boxes for christmas presents. They are so easy to put together and even easier to decorate! I hope that the lady who posted the question found some inspiration for her gifts and hope she sends us a photo to share what she came up with! And I hope that Santa got my hint too and puts a pretty box filled with Nespresso capsules on my present list. After all, I have been a very good girl this year ;0)

Male themed birthday card....

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick post to share a card I made for my nephew who celebrated his 9th birthday this week.

I used the Kaisercraft Attitude! collection for the card and being my nephew loves skateboarding I decided to use the Back to School Luka stamp for the front of the card. I coloured it using my Copic Markers. All of these items are available in Kerry's store, just follow the links above.

Christmas Challenge (and a winner...)!

Hi everyone! Alanna here to tell you all about our next challenge! But first of all, I better announce the winner from Sandra's August challenge :)

Belinda Baker is this month's lucky winner of a $15 voucher to Kerry's Crafty Cards and Cuts online store! Here is Belinda's layout...

Now, onto this month's challenge! We have decided to change things up here a little bit and make this challenge run for not one, but two, months! So, entries will be due Sunday 4th November, midnight (Adelaide time).

What is the challenge you might be asking??

I thought because we (the design team) were showcasing all things Christmas this month, I would stick with that theme, with a little twist of course!! I would like you to create a Christmas themed project, but with NON-typical Christmas papers. I'll show you my example and then explain what I mean...

Looks like a normal Christmas card doesn't it? My challenge to you though, is to make a project WITHOUT reaching for your Christmas collections! This was so hard for me because I have an abundance of 2-3 year old Christmas collections that I need to use up, but I managed! Although I have still used typical Christmas colours, and a Christmas sentiment (I'll allow that!), I haven't used actual Christmas papers.

I used Echo Park's Dots and Stripes paper pad to make the background, and then teamed it with a tree stamp and some distress inked panels. And of course, a bit of twine!

Here are a few guidelines to the challenge:

1. Entries - due Sunday 4th November at midnight (Central Standard Time-Adelaide time).
2. Each person may enter up to three times, but they must be different project types (ie. one card, one layout and one mini album).
3. Entries are to be posted on the store facebook page (here) where Kerry or Alanna will add them to an album.
5. Prizes will be drawn by random selection and announced the following week on the blog.
6. Prizes are 2x $15 voucher to the online store.

If you're having any trouble adding a photo to facebook, please leave us a comment or email Kerry.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with! Remember... stay away from those Christmas collections!! And keep an eye on the blog over the next few weeks as the other design team girls showcase their takes on the challenge!

Twig & Berry Layout

Hi all,

I wanted to share with you, my latest layout using Kaisercraft's Twig & Berry Paper Collection.

I've been working hard at trying to simplify my layouts (something very new to me!!).  I love this Christmas Collection, the colours are rich and shout Christmas!

This photo was taken a few years ago of my kidlets and its one of my favourites.

The flowers I made using punched shapes and a technique I recently learnt. I finished them off with beautiful fabric covered brads (from on of Kaisercrafts older Christmas Collections - Bella, which I had in my stash).

Please check out http://www.kerryscraftycardsandcuts.com.au for all of your scrapbooking supplies.  Kerry has other gorgeous Christmas Collections available too.

Well, I must go and pick up kidlets from school but I'm hoping to get some more scrapping time in tonight!!

Hope you have a great day.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope this gave you a little inspiration for your christmas cards. I know it seems a little early to be worried about christmas but if you're like me and have good intentions to send everyone a card at christmas then now is the best time to start making them. My partner is 1 of 10 and we also have other family members and friends that I like to send cards to so I started around this time last year and by the end of November I had made around 20 cards. After that I spent a week slowly writing in each then addressing them so that they were sent out to everyone by the 2nd week of December. I really enjoy sending cards at christmas and love making my own!

You can find lots of Christmas goodies in Kerry's store so head on over and check them out so you can get a good head start on all your christmas projects!

Mint Twist BTP

For those who don't know, it's 109 odd days until Christmas :) For those of you who want to keep track of how many days are left, I have the perfect product for you!

A COUNTDOWN TREE!!

I have used the bright and cheerful Mint Twist collection, one of Kaisercraft's September releases. The use of the alpha banner sticker sheet made this project so easy!!

Materials Used: Kaisercraft BTP Countdown Tree, Kaisercraft Mint Twist collection: papers (sticker sheet, candy stripe, twist and twirl), Kaisercolour paint (green), Kaisercraft rhinestone strips (silver), American Crafts thickers.

Such a quick and easy, but super funky, Christmas decoration! Now obviously... 109 wasn't going to fit, so I used some creative liberty and decided it was 95 days to go! Scary right?!?!? Don't know about you, but I've only made 8 cards so far!

That's it from me!
