If you came from Beth http://elizabethspapercreations.blogspot.com/ then you are in the right place :)

Here is the sketch we had to work with and be inspired by
I have done two cards for this challange and because of family commitments with moving house I decided to post them both today. The first one I tried to stick to the sketch itself..here it is

The second on I flipped the sketch on the side and changed a few of the elements positions to come up with a completly different card. Here it is

I love sketches. I am not to sure how many of you know but I sell my cards and sketches always helps kick start my creativity when making them as there is so many possibilities. I usually use one sketch a night and come up with about 5 different cards...and more in mind. If you have not used sketches yet, I encourage you to as it will help you to explore new ideas and get more creative with your cards.
I hope you enjoyed my cards. Your next stop will be the lovely Lynda http://memoriesintyme.blogspot.com/

Cleaning up and moving out!

It's been a while I know, but I have been extremely busy packing up and cleaning out the house as we move into our new home in 2 weeks Yipeeeee! It's been a long 2 1/2 years wait for this and its finally coming to be real! So my craft room has been one major headache for packing not only because the amount of stuff I have but it seems to have spread itself over the whole room. Quite a few weeks ago with the Crafty Card Gallery blog I showed you all how i kept my scraps in order....well as I was cleaning up I found box after box, and jar of ribbons and thought I should do something about it :)....after a little research on the net and asking around I came up with this (I got the idea from a blog where the lady had them in plastic draws..sorry but I can't remember where i saw it !). I just happened to have a toolbox organiser sorter that I was going to give o hubby for his nails etc or throw away and i figured I could use that...I took out all the dividers and presto my very own ribbon holder, that I reakon will fit about 200 different ribbons in it ,about 1-5 yards of each ribbon. I rolled each ribbon onto heavy chipboard that I had cut 2 x 2 1/2 inches each..a bit time consuming but I must say this system is working and all my ribbons are in one place(only problem is I need another one as this one is full LOL!) So here it is....

Now I also have some other news today and that is when the next update of the Crafty Card Gallery hits your phone, Jennifer asked me to be the designer of the month. I was so excited when she asked me and I hope it gives you a bit more of an insight into my crazy crafting world :)....so thankyou Jennifer for choosing me :)
Hopefully it won't be too long till I find the time to log on again and show you what i have been up to with my cards and scrapping...in fact next weekend is another blog hop with the Crafty Card Gallery girls, a sketch hop so you will see a post from me then :)

I'm still around!

Wow did not realise time goes so quickly around here. I have been so busy with my cards and my new little venture that I think I must have forgotten my blog :). Here are a few cards I have made recently

This one was for a friend who had friends travelling overseas...used Lifestyle Crafts nesting eyelet circle(love these dies as there are so many things you can do with them), also used a Digital Sihouette American image for the suitcase.

This one is for a pirate mad boy, using Quickutz 4x4 Pirate ship, scolloped nesting circle, and 2x2 pirate talk

The last one is a cute baby card..I made them in different colours as well. Used Scrapbuggy die Button bear..this bear is just the cutest :)

Thanks for stopping by today, lets hope I can post sooner next time :)

For the complete list of the hop please go to the post below.

Today I have done a project that used up most of my boy scraps from my kids album pages and cards I have made. I have used a page insert from the Quickutz Santas workshop Wintergreen album to complete the project. It starts of as a banner, which will be hung in my youngest son's room. When the year has finnished and the banner is complete I can make an album out of it using the cover from the same album set!. The idea behind this was so that my son can see pictures of himself each month growing and also be able to look at them himself (with help so it doesn't get ripped mind you) by being able to take the picture out of it's pocket.

Here are some photos of the finished project......

This was such a fun project and a great way to use up some of my scraps. The only thing that was not scraps was the album pages which was cut from white cardstock.

I hope you have enjoyed my projects and have had fun hopping along. Please view the blog below if you did not have a chance to hop along yesterday, if you did then it's time to hop back to Madison

Now onto the fun stuff...I have taken photos of my scraps! I admit I hate wasting paper and am a scrap hoarder. My scraps are put in one of four places depending upon their size!

Firstly I have draws that are in colour order and are any paper that is wider than 2" and the exact length of 12"..these i can then use as scraps for my borders in my scrapbook pages, or continue to use easily for base cards/embellishments/scrapbooking backgrounds.

Secondly I have a box full of 4x4,6x6,6x4,6x2 and 6x8(yep you guessed it I dont waste a thing!) These are cut to this size as they are ideal for mini albums, cards and fit all my metal dies perfectly.

Thirdly..and no picture but I have a box of 2x2 squares for all my 2x2 metal dies.

Lastly and final a box of what i call "scrap scraps!" that does not fit into any of the above sizes including basic embellishment cuts i did not use for a project.

so that is my scrap collection LOL!

I have two projects to share with you this weekend. The first is a card and the second .....well you will have to come back and visit tomorrow and see!

This is the card I made. Using a scrap from my large 12" draws i made a card base, then using strips from my scrap scraps i made like a patterned paper and cut it using Quickutz cardmakers limited edition set to create the background. The cheeky monkey, leaf and embossed background square were all hiding in my scraps scraps stash so I used them. Added Twinery twine and a rub on the the leaf! This was such a fun and easy way to use up my scraps and the possibilities are endless using this technique.

Be sure to visit tomorrow for my next project. Until then hop along to Madison at http://funkycards.blogspot.com/ to see her creation.
